Terry Rapoch is the President and Chief Executive Officer of daytaOhio, Ohio’s Wright Center for Data, a $44.5M collaborative investment by the State of Ohio, industry, government and universities in a center of excellence focused on improving human performance through innovative visualization and computing technologies. He is responsible for implementing this strategic vision with the daytaOhio Board and industry, university and government collaborators from the Dayton region and across Ohio. As part of Ohio’s Third Frontier program, daytaOhio’s goals are to attract new investments, promote business development and create new high wage, high tech jobs in Ohio’s information technology sector. Terry served as the Chief Technology Officer for daytaOhio from January 2005 until his appointment as President in July 2007. In 2003, he became NCR’s loaned executive on the community team that successfully developed the daytaOhio proposal and then supported the initial startup of the organization. He joined NCR in November 1997 as Chief Information Officer for NCR’s Americas Region after holding senior management and executive positions in information technology with three major Canadian communications companies and serving as the Chief Information Officer of NCR Canada. Since 2000, Terry has been actively involved in economic development at the state level and within the Dayton community. He is a member of the Board of the Ohio IT Alliance and was the Board Chair for the Greater Dayton IT Alliance in 2005. Terry serves on advisory committees at Sinclair College, the University of Dayton and Wright State University and is active in the Dayton region’s workforce development program. Terry earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Chemistry and Mathematics from Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec and did graduate work in Forestry at the University of British Columbia. Ken Berta, Executive Vice President Ken Berta has over 15 years of research, technology development and general management experience, as well as extensive experience successfully commercializing technology into global markets. Prior to joining daytaOhio, he has served as the vice president, technology commercialization, for Angel Partners, LLC, linking private equity investors and corporate venture interests to emerging technology opportunities. As a design engineer and researcher, he has been awarded five international patents for medical device innovation. In 2004, he was honored by the Dayton Business Journal as one of the region’s top 40 business leaders under 40. Berta is active on several university, corporate, and economic development advisory boards. He earned a bachelors degree from Wright State University in biomedical engineering and an MBA from Xavier University. |
